ELECTRICAL CONTROL PANEL BUILDER

JOB DESCRIPTION: ELECTRICAL CONTROL PANEL BUILDER

Employment may include but is not limited to job duties such as electrical control panel assembly. Basic hand tools and also drill presses will be provided. However you are welcome to bring a tool case or bag of your own that would be for your own personal use. Electrical control panel assembly may include measuring and tapping and drilling holes in a panel; measuring, cutting and deburring holes in electrical enclosures for mounting pushbuttons or touch screens; laying out and cutting to length neatly and installing DIN rail and wire duct onto a panel; mounting devices and terminal blocks onto DIN rail or directly onto the panel depending on the device; selecting proper wire gauge based on amp load or requirements on project drawings; cutting to length, stripping ends and installing wiring to connect components mounted on panel or in enclosure door; generating wire labels and terminal block labels using KEM’s printers for this purpose and applying them to the corresponding wires and terminal blocks; carefully applying legend plates to enclosure door or onto panel as required; testing finished build for firm wire attachment, continuity, and or by powering it up depending on build; cleaning up build to remove any metal chips or finger smudges inside enclosure; polishing outside of panel with stainless steel polish to prepare for shipping; packing finished panel for shipping as required – depending on size of build this may be in original box, in modified original box, shrink wrapped and strapped to pallet, etc. Job includes reading electrical schematic drawings and occasionally sweeping up work area/keeping area neat. We will welcome your feedback on specifying panel devices or enclosures during the quoting phase of a project. Most work would take place at KEM, with periodic assignments in the field.

Employment Classification:

IL-1099/Contract for 90 days, followed by consideration for full time employment.

Experience Preferred:

5 yrs electrical wiring including panel building experience preferred. Ability to read prints and use measurement gauges such as micrometers or go-no go gauges preferred.

Lunch and Breaks:

Lunch is 30 minutes and is unpaid after completing 4 hours of work. (2) 15-minute paid breaks can be taken, one before lunch and one after lunch.

Technical Training:

Technical training can be made available as needed. Examples may include but is not limited to Allen Bradley/Rockwell training classes and UL certification, with some virtual and some in-person training depending on the class offering.

Holidays and PTO:

For full-time employees, 7-10 paid holidays depending on calendar and market demands. 10 days PTO to start for full time employees.

Payday Frequency:

Every Friday a timecard is submitted via payroll app. Payment via ACH.
