Custom Locator for Drilling Cap
When part orientation is critical to meet GD&T requirements, KEM can design and build solution for you. This image shows the custom locator designed to fit the hard-to-hold cap shape. A locator was also designed that attached to the Seoam Pull-back Chuck so the cap could be held in the machining center to have holes drilled into it.

Our Constant Grip Force™️ chuck was developed to maintain 90% of grip force at speed, so you don’t have to grip a fragile part as hard at full RPM. This reduces part deformation on delicate, hard to hold parts and eliminates the grinding step, speeding production. The CGF chuck also offers near perfect repeatability, better than .005mm and TIR is better than .005mm. Current design is used in OP10 and OP20 at a major aerospace manufacturer, with one for OP30 & OP40 in development.
